There is only one place where broken hearts seem to leave fuller than when they entered. Heartbreak feels good in a place like Loveland. On September 30th, Suki Waterhouse brought this place to the House of Blues, transforming the venue into a house of romance, sadness, and everything in between. And it all started with a phone call.

Before Suki, EMMMA and Rochelle Jordan were responsible for preparing the House of Blues for Suki. Both artists brought their own energy to the room, with Rochelle leaning into a sound rooted in R&B and electronic music, creating an atmosphere that was completely different from what Suki would later bring to the stage.

After a phone call went to voicemail, Suki introduced the Loveland universe to the audience. Entering the stage with an arrow stuck in her heart, she quickly set the mood for the night. Starting her set with “Supersad,” the venue already seemed to be in sync with her, singing along from the very first note.

In between songs, Suki had funny interactions with her fans, and even Orlando became a conversation topic. She mentioned that earlier that day she had gone to Disney World and joked that living here must be wild, with a theme park basically in our backyard. A few moments later, someone in the crowd introduced her to the “Upside Down House” on International Drive, and she was amused by it. Throughout the night, moments like these made the show feel like more than just music. It felt like hundreds of people simply having a conversation with her.

Even with an aesthetic built carefully around the tour, Suki never seemed distant from her fans. She constantly answered them, laughed at comments from the audience, and allowed small interactions to naturally alter the rhythm of the concert. Those moments became just as important to the show as the production surrounding them.

Later in the night, Suki briefly left the stage, leaving her touring band to carry the atmosphere while she changed into another outfit. After spending most of the show dressed in black and red, she returned in white and pink. The change almost felt symbolic, as if Loveland itself had moved from heartbreak into something softer, brighter, and more in love.

From there, the show entered its final stretch. Even with a packed House of Blues, Suki made the room feel small and personal, talking directly to the crowd and reacting to whatever was happening around her. After a heartfelt performance of “Good Looking,” the mood in the room shifted. With the chorus spreading to every corner of the venue, the fans weren't ready for the night to end. After a 20-track set, “Weirdo” appeared to be the final song, but the crowd was already screaming for more.

When she left the stage, Orlando wasn't ready to leave Loveland. Suki returned after the screams from the crowd, stretching the night for a few more minutes. Before the end, she managed to erase the remaining distance between herself and her fans by entering the photo pit and hugging the people who had spent the entire night near the barricade watching her.

Maybe it was that proximity that made the show work so well. Behind the phone calls, the lights, the outfit changes, and the Loveland aesthetic was a surprisingly human presentation. Suki Waterhouse didn't need to depend on a massive production to keep every eye in the House of Blues on her. A simple, random conversation or a joke was enough.

At the end, Lake Buena Vista received its own version of Loveland, a place where phone calls go to voicemail, arrows open up hearts, Disney becomes a topic on stage, and a random conversation about an upside-down house happens in front of hundreds of people. Because at the end of the day, Loveland was really the only place where heartbreak could feel good.
