Coldplay arrived in Miami with an burning passion to light up our city. The concert began with Chilean-Palestinian singer Elyanna, who recalled her first concert experience at 15, watching Coldplay during their 'A Head Full of Dreams Tour' in San Diego, which was also the last time Coldplay performed in Miami. Following her performance, Nigerian star Ayra Starr added even more excitement to the show keeping fans tense awaiting the main act.
Come 9:45, Coldplay entered the stage, the fans went into a frenzie! As we anticipated the opening song we were met with a newer tune "Higher Power", eventually leading into all the hits. After starting with a bang, frontman, Chris Martin decided to read off some signs in the crowed, soon coming across one that read 'Let me sing In My Place'. Martin then signalled for the fan to meet him on stage with his girlfriend and play along with the band. After some fun the whole crowd turned bright yellow via the DHL wrist bands provided prior to the performance. We all knew what time it was and the crowd came together singing the lyrics that were once written in a Welsh bathroom.

Security Secures New Role As Back-Up Dancer
During 'Something Just Like This,' Chris Martin returned to the crowd and took the hand of a security guard to join in the fun. While we'd like to think it was a spontaneous choice, the security guard is actually a professional backup dancer featured in the "Feels Like I'm Falling In Love" music video. This 'security guard' travels with the band and blends in by wearing the venue's security uniform, creating an unexpected surprise during the show. Overall, it's a fun addition that adds to the excitement of a Coldplay concert.
A Sky Full of Stars & a Crowd Bare of Phones
When the iconic hit began to play, fans quickly took out their phones to record. However, this didn't sit well with the band, who stopped midway and asked if they could restart with just the eyes of the crowd, without any phones visible. For the most part, the crowd complied with their request, and it was, nonetheless, magical.

Going Back To The Start: 'High Speed' Played for the First Time in 18 years!
As with any Coldplay concert, the unexpected is always anticipated. This was true for the Miami performance. Chris Martin shared that while sitting in the dressing room, he was reminded of their early days performing under the name 'Starfish,' when they would gather in a bedroom to play. One of the songs from that era is from their first album, called 'High Speed,' a hidden gem and undoubtedly a classic. After an 18-year hiatus, they played the song, initially off to some hiccups because the guitar was in the wrong tuning. However, once they got started, the performance was flawless.

JUMBOTRON JAMBOREE
As High Speed concluded, the moment the audience had been anticipating arrived... the infamous 'Jumbotron Song'. Unless you've been living under a rock, you would know that about two weeks ago, Astronomer CEO 'Andy Bryon' was caught in an affair with his head of HR at a Coldplay concert in Boston during this very song. Naturally, fans were curious about what scandals they might witness at their concert, and while there were no scandals, there were certainly allusions to the incident. Before the song began, Chris Martin humorously warned that if you were in the audience, you might end up on the jumbotron camera. Later, the camera focused on a couple, and Chris Martin playfully ensured they were comfortable with a kiss by asking, "Is there any reason you two should not kiss right now?", all in good fun and a nod to the original incident.
Review:
Coldplay's "Music of The Spheres" concert on July 26th, 2025, at the Hard Rock Stadium was nearly flawless. The band ensured that everyone, regardless of their seat location, race, sexuality, or age, had a great view and experience. It was an evening of unity and enjoyment, marking the conclusion of the North American leg of the 'Music of the Spheres' tour. Although the ticket prices were quite high, the concert was outstanding and received a rating of 4.5/5 Sonder Stars.
